BounceLight Room Gameplay Capture — Unreal Engine 5 Elevator Sequence and Sound Design

BounceLight Room Blueprint Systems

BounceLight Room is an Unreal Engine 5.6.1 real-time demonstration project showcasing gameplay programming, Blueprint architecture, lighting, environment design, sound design, and technical-art workflows.

- Blueprint gameplay systems (elevator & doors movements, sound, menu, and user-interface systems)

- Environment and level design (e.g., pre-game play cinematic, palm-leaf physics)

- Material design & lighting (e.g., prismatic shader)

- Asset creation and integration (using simplicity in elegant ways)

- Technical art workflows

- Source control with GitHub

- Packaging and deployment (a downloadable executable coming soon)

Why “BounceLight Room?”. The scene was lit with just UE’s Default Directional Light (with the exception of one eleveator light).

Star Wars: Beyond Victory — Meta Quest 3 VR Experience Reel


Selected character-rigging and real-time technical-art work from ILM Immersive’s Star Wars: Beyond Victory for Meta Quest 3, including rigging, Pose Asset setup, Blueprint integration, retargeting, physics setup, and LODs. My work spanned production assets, including main characters, ships, vehicles, podracers, drones, droids and props.

 
 
 

2023 Unreal Fellowship Animation-Rigging Project

I was selected for Epic’s 2023 “Rigging & Animation” Unreal Fellowship. In 3.5 weeks I created the above reel for my fellowship project, designing, animating & lighting as I attended the courses. An incredible experience. Thank you Epic and Instructions.

Stats: 1/3 pure keyframe animation, 2/3 mocap, 173 cups of of coffee.

How I created the Project Video as I learned UE :

  • Mocap clip & Camera Blocking

  • ”Set” Design (I was going for a Tron-like look)

  • Material and Lighting Design

  • Keyframe Animation

 

Setup & Trained UE ML Deformer For “Stitch Live” Setup

Created thousands for random poses for Stitch and simulated Stitch’s Skin & Muscle using ILM’s Zeno Simulation Software. Input resulting poses to UE ML Deformer for the “Live Stich” Setup.
